PRIVACY
Private by design.
The shortest privacy policy is a product that needs very little personal information.
Who operates the service
GrooveMachine.com is an independent project operated by Ciarán Paul Roche in the United States.
Project data stored on your device
Your beat settings, patterns, mixer levels, and protected-track choices are saved in your browser's local storage so you can return to them on the same device and browser. The application does not intentionally transmit that project data to GrooveMachine.com servers.
Offline application cache
If your browser supports service workers, it may cache public application files—such as the interface, code, artwork, and legal pages—to improve reliability and permit offline use after an initial visit. The offline cache is not a cloud backup of your beat and can be removed by clearing site data.
Shared beat links
When you choose Share, the editable beat state is encoded in the URL fragment after the # symbol. Under normal web behavior, that fragment is handled by your browser and is not included in the HTTP request sent to the server. Anyone who receives the link can read, copy, edit, and redistribute the beat encoded in it, so treat a shared link as public to its recipients.
WAV and MIDI exports
WAV audio and MIDI files are generated locally in your browser and downloaded to your device. The current release does not upload those exports to GrooveMachine.com.
Hosting and technical request data
The site is hosted by Vercel. Like ordinary web-hosting providers, infrastructure services may process technical request information needed to deliver, secure, diagnose, and operate the site, such as IP address, request time, browser or device information, requested path, and security-related logs.
Optional Google Analytics
If you choose Allow analytics, GrooveMachine.com loads Google Analytics 4 to measure page visits, approximate country, device category, traffic source, and interactions such as outbound-link clicks. Advertising storage, ad personalization, and Google signals are disabled. Analytics does not receive your beat pattern, audio, MIDI export, URL fragment, name, or email address. Google Analytics is not loaded if you decline or have not yet made a choice.
Cookies, advertising, and sale of information
The current application does not require an account cookie, run personalized advertising, or sell personal information. Functional browser storage and the offline cache are used for the product features described above. If you allow analytics, Google Analytics may set measurement cookies; declining analytics prevents the tag from loading and removes accessible Google Analytics cookies for this site.
Children
GrooveMachine.com is a general-audience creative tool and is not directed to children under 13. The current application does not ask users to submit names, email addresses, photos, voices, precise locations, or public profiles. Features that would collect personal information will require a new privacy and age-appropriate-design review before release.
Your controls
You can change analytics consent at any time using Analytics choices in the footer. You can clear your local project using Reset Project or by clearing site data in your browser. A shared link cannot be remotely revoked after another person has copied it. Downloaded WAV and MIDI files remain wherever you or a recipient saved them.
Security
We use HTTPS hosting, restrictive browser security headers, limited permissions, and data minimization. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Changes and contact readiness
Material changes to collection or sharing practices should appear here before they go live. Because this beta does not offer accounts or collect support submissions, it does not yet operate an in-app privacy-request form. A dedicated public privacy contact channel must be added before the service begins collecting account, payment, upload, collaboration, or contact-form information.
